Tess Meussling M.S.
Growing up, we tend to struggle finding our own personal identity, our own true self. Throughout grade school and into adult life, we encounter many obstacles designed to help us develop our inner strength. Using a direct therapy approach, Tess hopes to help assist you in finding yourself, and implementing the inner strength you may not realize you have. It is not always easy to open up and express your deepest fears or feelings with a stranger, which is why Tess enjoys using alternative tactics, such as play therapy, the sand tray, and even adult coloring exercises to allow clients to build trust and process through their fears and feelings at a pace most comfortable to them. Play helps build trust, regulate emotions, reduce anxieties, promote creative thinking and problem-solving, encourage open communication and enhance self-esteem, making therapy with children, teenagers, and young adults feel less threatening.
Throughout Tess’s career, helping individuals as they transition through a variety of life circumstances, has been a privilege to her. Tess has developed a growing experience base working with toddlers, adolescents, teenagers, and young adults. With a history working with the Department of Child Services, Tess holds a special place in her heart for the foster care system, and individuals who have been a foster child or a foster parent. No adult or child is the same, and every experience is unique, Tess enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults who have experienced any amount of trauma or neglect. Tess work with individuals who have endured difficult, abusive, or traumatic experiences during childhood or as adults as well as those having difficulty coping with the many stressors of everyday life.
Tess is committed to providing you the opportunity to express yourself, in a safe environment, to someone who wants to fully understand you. Working together to strengthen your true self, and prepare that self for any obstacle that might come your way.
Tess has a Master's Degree from The University of St. Francis.
